Air Filter Assembly

         The air filter consists of two parts: the filter element and the casing: the engine needs to suck in a lot of air during the working process. If the air is not filtered, the dust suspended in the air will be sucked into the cylinder, which will accelerate the wear of the piston group and the cylinder. Large particles enter between the piston and the cylinder, which will cause a serious "cylinder pulling" phenomenon. The air filter is installed in front of the carburetor or the intake pipe, and plays the role of filtering out dust and sand in the air, so as to ensure that sufficient and clean air enters the cylinder.

      Introduction and working principle:

        1. Air filter element is a kind of filter, also called air filter cartridge, air filter, style, etc. Mainly used for air filtration in engineering locomotives, automobiles, agricultural locomotives, laboratories, sterile operating rooms and various precision operating rooms;

        2. The engine needs to suck in a lot of air during the working process. If the air is not filtered, the dust suspended in the air is sucked into the cylinder, which will accelerate the wear of the piston group and the cylinder;

        3. Larger particles enter between the piston and the cylinder, which will cause a serious "cylinder pulling" phenomenon, which is especially serious in a dry and sandy working environment;

       Process and material:

        1. Filter element: electrostatically charge polypropylene fibers during the melt-blown manufacturing process to make them electrostatic electret melt-blown non-woven fabrics (filter paper), with a fiber diameter of 2-5 μm;

         2. Air filter assembly: generally there are two kinds of iron (stamping and welding electrophoresis surface treatment) and plastic (injection molding/vibration friction welding);

       Precautions when using:

         1. The replacement cycle is different due to the different use environments, and the maintenance and replacement cycles are also different. It should be carried out according to the method specified by the host manufacturer or the maintenance instructions of the filter. Generally, it can be measured according to the maintenance indicator (air pressure difference indicator). Differential air pressure for maintenance and replacement.

         2. Cleaning method

            (1) Tap method. Take out the filter element from the shell, gently tap the end face of the paper filter element to make the dust fall off. Do not hit the outer surface of the filter element to prevent damage to the filter element.

            (2) Purge method. That is, blow out the dust from the inside of the filter element with compressed air. In order to prevent damage to the filter element, the compressed air pressure should not exceed 0.2 ~ 0.3MPa.

            (3) For dry paper air filters, do not use water or oil when cleaning the filter element to prevent oil and water from contaminating the filter element. Be sure to check the filter element for damage after cleaning. Clean and replace the filter element regularly. In use, the filter element should be cleaned frequently according to the maintenance regulations of agricultural vehicles, so as not to increase the intake resistance, reduce the engine power and increase the fuel consumption due to excessive dust adhering to the filter element. If the filter element is damaged, it should be replaced in time.

         Maintenance Precautions

         1. Always check whether the sealing of each pipeline connection of the air filter is good; if the bolts, nuts, clamping rings, etc. are loose, they should be tightened in time; if any parts are damaged, they should be repaired or replaced in time. Otherwise, the air will go directly into the cylinder without being filtered.

         2. With the prolongation of the use time, the dust and impurities accumulated in the air filter will continue to increase, which will increase the resistance of the air flow, and the filtering effect will be significantly reduced. Therefore, it is generally required that the air filter should be maintained once every 100 hours of work (20 to 50 hours in a dusty environment).

         3. When maintaining the wet air filter, clean oil should be used to clean the filter screen, oil storage pan, center pipe and other parts. After the filter screen is cleaned with oil, it should be dried first, sprayed with a little oil, and then assembled. The oil pan should be replaced with filtered waste oil. When adding oil, it should be filled according to the oil level mark on the oil storage pan. Be careful not to make the oil level too high or too low. Otherwise, too much oil in the oil storage pan will be sucked into the cylinder for combustion, resulting in carbon deposition and even a speeding accident; too little oil will affect the filtering effect.

         4. When maintaining the paper filter element of the dry air filter, use a soft brush to clean it. Gently vibrate both ends to make the dust fall, do not wash the paper filter element with oil or water. When cleaning the foam filter, it can be cleaned with washing powder or soapy water solution, and it is strictly forbidden to clean with gasoline! After the filter is cleaned and blown dry, the filter is dipped in oil of the same quality as the filter.

         5. When assembling the air filter after maintenance, pay attention to laying the sealing gaskets flat, and do not install them in a twisted state to avoid air leakage. When removing the air filter for maintenance, use clean paper or cloth to block the intake pipe port to prevent debris from falling into the cylinder and causing accidents; when installing the air filter, pay attention to the connection between the air filter and the intake pipe to be sealed and reliable. to prevent short circuit.
